Pireus (Athens) to Civitaveccia (Rome)

Setting sail from Piraeus, a sea day takes us to Messina, a pretty Sicilian port known for its salt flats and delicious local beer. Take a walk through Naples’ Centro Storico, getting lost in the city’s labyrinthine 2,800-year-old walls, and stopping to taste a melt-in-the-mouth pizza. Next, cool off in Sardinia, either by splashing in the sea in Olbia or taking in sweeping views of the Emerald Coast from the San Pantaleo mountains. Then it’s on to Portofino, with its pretty harbor fringed with colorful houses and wonderful seafood restaurants. We then enjoy some time on the French Riviera visiting Villefranche-sur-Mer and Toulon. A further sea day delivers us to our final destination, Rome.
