After two enjoyable days at sea, St Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands welcomes us to its shores at the bustling port of Charlotte Amalie. Take the cable car into the hills for a grand overview of the mesmerizing scenery. We cross next to the Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, where a visit to the famous "Baths", formed by granite boulders, is a must. St John’s in Antigua offers a window on the past, with the chance to visit the well-preserved Georgian dockyard that Admiral Nelson used as a shelter and repair shop for the Royal Navy. Pretty San Juan enchants with its pastel-colored colonial architecture and buzzy bars and restaurants, while Samana in the Dominican Republic is a natural haven of pristine rainforest. A day at sea takes us to Nassau in the Bahamas, with great beaches and a trio of historic forts to explore, before our journey ends in Fort Lauderdale.
