A trio of sun-splashed Canary Islands – Gran Canaria, La Gomera, and Lanzarote – begin our voyage, offering colonial-style architecture, pretty cobbled streets, historic buildings, verdant parks, and striking black-sand beaches. We then cross into Portuguese waters for two days in Funchal, Madeira – ample time to admire its world-renowned gardens, take the cable car up into the mountains for far-reaching views across the city to the shimmering Atlantic, and experience its buzzing nightlife. A sea day brings a chance to relax as we dip south to the African coastline, calling at Agadir and Casablanca in Morocco – be sure to browse the souks for souvenirs. We cross back to Spain for a stop in Cádiz, often regarded as the oldest city in Western Europe, with a rich architectural and cultural legacy to explore. Finally, we return to Portugal, relaxing on the glorious beaches of Portimão before arriving in beautiful Lisbon, where our journey ends.
